Rezones Are Moving Fast In Oconee County

In a few years, many citizens will look back on this time in our County’s history and view it as the “Age of Greed”.  Civic duty, community pride, sound planning, steady infrastructure development all falling  by the wayside.

 

Oh, many citizens will realize it in increments as ill-advised developments come to their neighborhoods.  However, to be effective,  these citizens must join with other citizens to make changes.  Just leaving the courthouse mad and never attending other zoning meetings will not change it.

b.      Is this the proper way to locate schools in Oconee County?  How will county diversity be considered?  Will this be a “subdivision school”?   Is this a change in County School Policy in locating schools?

 

c.        Is it proper to amend an ordinance before a rezone?  Have private discussions and agreements been involved?

 

d.        Has ownership been fully disclosed? Who actually owns this property?   Are there silent partners?  Who are they?

  1. What sewer capacity is available for this large project?  Where will the capacity originate?     When? 

 

  1. What impact will this project have on schools, infrastructure, roads etc?

 

  1. What happens if the project does not build out as visualized and represented to the County?

Rezone #4120, Phillip A. Paxson, Michael A. & Bonnie L. Dirr, Windy Creek Development, A-I & AR-2 to AR-2 with modified conditions, Whippoorwill Rd.. Single family subdivision.

 

Mr. Paxon is a realtor with SEUS, Tom Little et al.  What is his involvement?

 


PUD Master Planned Amendment #4122, Mike Power, + or - 0.70 acres, Lake Pointe Dr. Access through the Jennings Mill PUD.
