The Class of ’58 had 59 members. In a time when Oconee was populated by mostly natives, students spent much time together and formed a lifetime bond. After graduation, the Class went on a sightseeing “senior trip” to Washington D. C and New York City.
The Class has held a reunion every year since graduation in June 1958. The attendance increases with each passing year. An informal Christmas gathering at Blue Willow Inn was started several years ago and grows larger each year.
In 2003 the Class donated money for a book to the Oconee County High School Library in memory of Gale Callier Whitehead who died earlier this year.
Cards were signed for seriously ill members.
