Paris Hilton Jail Video filmed in Oconee County Jail

.

By Wendell Dawson, Editor, AVOC, Inc

.

Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry got some press coverage this week with a Spoof Video on jailed Paris Hilton filmed at the Oconee County Jail. The Athens Banner-Herald reported the incident on June 22, 2007, and pretty accurately describes the video.See part of the A B-H Article below.

.

Letters to the Editor, mostly from non-residents of Oconee County have been supportive of the film.   However, not all Oconee Taxpayers seem “proud” of this display of their new and encumbered jail.

.

It may be a sign of age (Nearing end of my 7th decade) but my wife and I were turned off with the video.

.

Since cultural and personal tastes may vary, we leave it up to viewers of the video to decide its humor and appropriateness.

Video spoofing Hilton shot at Oconee facility

Paris in prison

.

By Lee Shearer

.

A spoof of Paris Hilton's supposed adventures in the Oconee County Jail has entertained thousands of viewers at an Internet comedy site, but the off-color video poking fun at the celebrity heiress will be the last time the jail doubles as a movie set, said Sheriff Scott Berry…….

.

Former University of Georgia students McGuin and Black created the Internet comedy series "The Damn! Show" nearly 10 years ago in Athens, then used that as a springboard to an MTV series called Stankervision, canceled after one season.

.

In the Oconee County Jail video, Paris winds up with an inmate's worst nightmare for a cellmate - a mean woman played convincingly by an Athens woman identified only as "Propecia" in the credits.

.

It's clear from the context that the foul-mouthed, hostile Propecia's intent is to sodomize Hilton.

In other portions of the video, a body search of Hilton produces a rain of cigarettes, candy corn and other items - even a checkerboard and Hilton's little dog Tinkerbell.

.

Another scene shows a sign announcing conjugal visit, then a line of men waiting their turn with Hilton.

.

Some have found the clip hilarious, but others see it as outrageously offensive.

.

"To be doing an X-rated skit with taxpayer money, that's a disgrace," said one anonymous caller to the Athens Banner-Herald.

.

No taxpayer money was spent to help the video producers make the parody, however, Berry said.

.

The video was shot in a section of the county's new jail that was not yet in use because a security fence had not been completed, he said.

.

"It didn't cost the taxpayers a dime and they didn't get in our way," the sheriff said.

.

In fact, filming 23 Nights in Paris was less intrusive than a school tour, he said.

.

Berry said he has in the past routinely allowed camera crews to use the jail - from TV producers to artists to nonprofit groups such as Safe Campuses Now, he said.

.

"I didn't see a good reason not to as long as it doesn't interfere with operations," he said.

.

But after getting complaints about the off-color content of 23 Nights in Paris, the sheriff said he won't allow any more videotaping in the jail.

.

Berry knew that the video would be about Paris Hilton reporting to jail, he said, but he did not know the content of the video until he saw the completed product on the Internet…………
