The Sarah Palin Expose`
.
By Wendell Dawson, Editor, AVOC, Inc
.
Since Sarah Palin catapulted onto the national stage about 10 days ago, she has graphically proved the bias of the ‘Mainstream Media” and the empty rhetoric of the Fringe Left. They don’t support women, families or religion. They want a Leftist Feminist to succeed. This was demonstrated in their attitude toward Afro-Americans in the Bush Administration, i.e. Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell et al. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas is another example of the lack of objectivity of the media and the lack of tolerance on the fringe left.
.
Palin is the most popular Governor in the United States- approval ratings over 80%. She has taken on and reformed some powerful Special Interests. As Governor of Alaska, she has dealt with real life energy issues. Her state is the closest to Russia and I am sure she knows more about Russia and its presence than does a product of Chicago Politics.
.

Palin as Governor
.
It is ludicrous that the media has tried to condemn Palin for having five children, one having Down’s Syndrome. Her teen daughter’s pregnancy has been condemned and mocked by the Left.
.
Why don’t we get the same investigative effort on the ancestry and legitimacy of Obama? Media reports have indicated his father was not divorced when he and Barack’s 18 year old mother conceived and he was born. With those facts, in Georgia at least, Obama was born to parents not legally married. Some states do consider the issue of an invalid marriage to be legitimate for the sake of the child. A lot of facts about Obama’s birth and father have not been fully reported.
.
Some reporters are digging into Palin’s religion and her husband’s previous political statements. Why not the same scrutiny of Obama’s longtime association with Jeremiah Wright, a black racist, and William Ayers, a 60’s terrorist?
.
We are not getting fair and balanced reporting because of the biased agenda of the ‘Mainstream Media’ that has demonized George W. Bush and others not fitting their mold. The ‘Fringe Left’ celebrates out of wedlock births and the immoral shenanigans of the Hollywood Liberal Celebs who spout off about Values and National Security issues. What a Joke?!?!? The Left Fringes and MSM just don’t understand ‘mainstream America’ which hopefully is still the majority in this nation.
.
If one does not recognize the bias, I suggest using the remote to visit different channels covering the same event - there was a lot of contrast during the Conventions. One can also use Google and check a lot of Internet sources for news and opinion. Thank Goodness, we are no longer at the mercy of the Networks or Large Urban Newspapers.
.
Whether the Left likes it or not, Sarah Palin has energized this year’s Presidential Campaign! GO SARAH!

McCain Speech Breaks Obama’s Week-Old Viewership Record
.
By Michele Greppi
.
Nearly 39 million people watched Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s acceptance speech on the closing night of the GOP convention Thursday in St. Paul, Minn. That broke the week-old convention record of upwards of 38 million viewers set by Sen. Barack Obama only the week before.
.
Sen. McCain amassed an audience of 38.9 million viewers for his speech on two fewer channels than were carrying Sen. Obama’s speech Aug. 28 to 38.38 million viewers, according to data from Nielsen Media Research.
.
In addition to the three broadcast networks and three cable news networks carrying both closing speeches, Sen. Obama’s speech was carried live by BET and TV One, which target African American audiences, as well as Spanish-language Telemundo and Univision. Sen. McCain’s speech was carried by Telemundo and Univision.
.
Sen. McCain’s audience dwarfed the 25.57 million who tuned in for President Bush’s acceptance speech on closing night, Sept. 4, in 2004.

CBS Poll: McCain, Obama Tied
McCain Closes Eight-Point Gap From Poll Taken Last Weekend
.
(CBS) The presidential race between Barack Obama and John McCain is now even at 42 percent, according to a new CBS News poll conducted Monday-Wednesday of this week. Twelve percent are undecided according to the poll, and one percent said they wouldn't vote. . This is in contrast to a poll conducted last weekend, where the Obama-Biden ticket led McCain-Palin by eight points, 48 percent to 40 percent. . McCain has also closed the enthusiasm gap some with Obama, but it still exists. Fifty-five percent of Obama's supporters are enthusiastic about their choice, and now so are 35% of McCain's. Last weekend, just 25 percent of McCain's supporters were enthusiastic about him, compared to 67 of Obama's supporters……………………….

How Palin Beat Alaska's Establishment
. September 5, 2008; Page A13
.
By KIMBERLEY A. STRASSEL
.
If you've read the press coverage of Sarah Palin, chances are you've heard plenty about her religious views and private family matters. If you want to know what drives Gov. Palin's politics, and has intrigued America, read this………..
.
Every state has its share of crony capitalism, but Big Oil and the GOP political machine have taken that term to new heights in Alaska. The oil industry, which provides 85% of state revenues, has strived to own the government. Alaska's politicians—in particular ruling Republicans—roll in oil campaign money, lavish oil revenue on pet projects, then retire to lucrative oil jobs where they lobby for sweetheart oil deals. You can love the free market and not love this.
.
Alaskans have long resented this dysfunction, which has led to embarrassing corruption scandals. It has also led to a uniform belief that the political class, in hock to the oil class, fails to competently oversee Alaska's vast oil and gas wealth, the majority of which belongs to the state—or rather, Alaskan citizens.
.
And so it came as no surprise in 2004 when former Republican Gov. Frank Murkowski made clear he'd be working exclusively with three North Slope producers—ExxonMobil, ConocoPhillips and BP—to build a $ 25 billion pipeline to move natural gas to the lower 48. The trio had informed their political vassals that they alone would build this project (they weren't selling their gas to outsiders) and that they expected the state to reward them. Mr. Murkowski disappeared into smoky backrooms to work out the details. He refused to release information on the negotiations. When Natural Resources Commissioner Tom Irwin suggested terms of the contract were illegal, he was fired.
.
What Mr. Murkowski did do publicly was instruct his statehouse to change the oil and gas tax structure (taxes being a primary way Alaskans realize their oil revenue). Later, citizens would discover this was groundwork for Mr. Murkowski's pipeline contract—which would lock in that oil-requested tax package for up to 40 years, provide a $ 4 billion state investment, and relinquish most oversight.
.
Enter Mrs. Palin. The former mayor of Wasilla had been appointed by Mr. Murkowski in 2003 to the state oil and gas regulatory agency. She'd had the temerity to blow the whistle on fellow GOP Commissioner Randy Ruedrich for refusing to disclose energy dealings. Mr. Murkowski and GOP Attorney General Gregg Renkes closed ranks around Mr. Ruedrich—who also chaired the state GOP. Mrs. Palin resigned.
.
Having thus offended the entire old boy network, she challenged the governor for his seat.
Mrs. Palin ran against the secret deal, and vowed to put the pipeline back out for competitive, transparent, bidding. She railed against cozy politics. …………………..

Let Palin Be Palin Why the left is scared to death of McCain's running mate.
.
By William Kristol .
A spectre is haunting the liberal elites of New York and Washington--the spectre of a young, attractive, unapologetic conservatism, rising out of the American countryside, free of the taint (fair or unfair) of the Bush administration and the recent Republican Congress, able to invigorate a McCain administration and to govern beyond it.
.
That spectre has a name--Sarah Palin, the 44-year-old governor of Alaska chosen by John McCain on Friday to be his running mate. There she is: a working woman who's a proud wife and mother; a traditionalist in important matters who's broken through all kinds of barriers; a reformer who's a Republican; a challenger of a corrupt good-old-boy establishment who's a conservative; a successful woman whose life is unapologetically grounded in religious belief; a lady who's a leader.
.
So what we will see in the next days and weeks--what we have already seen in the hours after her nomination--is an effort by all the powers of the old liberalism, both in the Democratic party and the mainstream media, to exorcise this spectre. They will ridicule her and patronize her……………..

Palin Speech Seen by More Than 40 Million
.
NEW YORK — Barack Obama apparently isn't the only "rock star" in presidential politics this year.
.
After days of intense media coverage about Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin's qualifications, more than 40 million Americans tuned in Wednesday to see for themselves what they thought of her.
.
The huge audience for Palin's acceptance speech rivaled that for Obama's address at the Democratic National Convention six days earlier, and set a tough standard for the top of her own ticket. John McCain was to accept the GOP presidential nomination on Thursday.
.
The first two days of the GOP convention essentially served as a build-up for Palin. The Alaska governor hadn't spoken publicly since McCain selected her for the ticket last Friday, as a series of stories circulated questioning whether McCain had properly vetted her.
.
Her poised speech, primarily going after Obama and touting McCain's case for the presidency, was gushed over by many analysts.
.
An audience of 37.2 million people watched Palin on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC, Nielsen Media Research said Thursday. PBS estimated its audience at 3.9 million, based on a less reliable sample of several big cities. Nielsen does not count the audience for C-SPAN, which also showed the speech. ………………………
