We Care Animal Haven helps with area strays issues and needs support

.

By Wendell Dawson, Editor, AVOC, Inc

.

AVOC was recently contacted by Larry Ward who is on the Board of Directors of WE CARE ANIMAL HAVEN, INC.   Oconee’s Sarah Bell, an avid animal lover, is also on the Board.   They need funds to help them with their cause.

.

In my home, we have a cat, Aggie, and have had several dogs, including Lady, our Golden Retriever who died in July 2006.   7-5-06 The Dawson Family lost a long-time friend today- Lady died.

.

Pets are important to many of us.  Their welfare needs resources and we all can help.

.

Details on the cause and needs of We Care Animal Haven are described in a recent Flyer:

MESSAGE FROM LARRY WARD - Watkinsville, GA on Animal Haven 10-31-09

.

…..I have two old male cats that look like bob cats except for color. They are nine years in age and I watched them being born on the 4th of July. I have never been without a pet cat since early childhood. Their names are Zerocat and Prince Albert. Both of these cats have earned their keep around the farm by alerting when Linda and I came dangerously close to rattlesnakes and copperheads.

.

Recently when a group began to assemble for the purpose of forming a tax exempt 501C3 organization to help animals I agreed to serve on the board of directors as part of the requirements for tax exempt status.  My wife, Linda and friends, has always been very understanding and has somewhat secretly gone about this work.
 .
Most of these animals are farmed out to various individuals that keep them in their homes until a new home or responsible owner can be found. We just hate to see so many of these animals being put down by animal control.

I was glad to see this group forming and will do what I can. Some recent vet bills have pushed the group into debt and we are now forced to seek outside help. One hundred percent of all revenue collected goes directly to food and vet bills at present and I can assure you that as long as I am involved it will remain a legitimate organization.  We are currently seeking to expand this much needed and worthy cause………

.

Keep laughing! Larry S Ward
