Jennifer prepared a children’s book on Miss Rankin as part of her teacher certification process at Mercer-Atlanta in the early 2000’s. The book is a detailed thorough presentation on Miss Rankin that would make a good reference book for children and libraries. We are hopeful that the book will be published some day.
.
At the November 13, 2009, exhibit, Jennifer had a copy of Miss Rankin’s Will, plat of land she left for women causes, memorial marker application in 1993, copy of John F. Kennedy’s Three Women of Courage that appeared in the Saturday Evening Post in 1958 and many pictures. Jennifer also displayed the picture of Miss Rankin that was given to Aunt Becky and Connie whose pictures were also on display at the World Congress Center. Aunt Becky has given the Rankin picture to Jennifer.

Jennifer stayed at the conference (Thursday – Sunday) for a presentation on Saturday with a group of students who belong to the Helping Hands Club that Jennifer sponsors at Lost Mountain Middle School. The Club and students were mentioned in conference opening remarks by the NCSS president. The students received a special invitation to participate in the session on:“Students Doing Social Studies”. Jennifer was pleased with the performance of her students and their reception by the conference attendees.
