11-1-10 Remember to Vote November 2, 2010

In Georgia, we have the opportunity to send Roy Barnes away- hopefully for good. AVOC supports Nathan Deal and thinks Roy Barnes has run one of the slimiest campaigns in Georgia history. We do not need Roy Barnes again! .. Most importantly, go vote if you did not vote early!

Remember to Vote – November 2, 2010

Election Day is here!   Hopefully, campaign ads, calls and T V spots will go away, at least for a while!

We vote all across the nation: all 435 Congressmen, 1/3 of the 100 U S Senators, many Governors, Georgia State Officials and its entire legislature.   Locally, we only have a couple of contested elections on the ballot: one school board post and the State Representative.   The local Republican Nominees, Mark Thomas and Hank Huckaby, are the odds-on favorites to win.

.

Georgia has constitutional amendments and a referendum on removing the state ad valorem tax on business inventories.   The inventory tax produces minimal revenue and is probably more cumbersome and expensive than its revenue benefits.   AVOC supports all the amendments except # 1, Non-Compete agreements.   Some friends are opposed to the $ 10 surcharge on auto licenses for trauma centers support.   I supported it because we never know when or where we may need a trauma center.

.

On the national level, hopefully U S voters can send Nancy Pelosi into retirement.   Nevada voters have the opportunity to retire Harry Reid.   These results can be healthy for our nation.
