5-27-12 Oconee will have several contested local races this summer

AVOC would like to see more emphasis on maintenance and improvement of County Roads. New High Shoals Road, Mars Hill Road Corridor and other major roads have been neglected in recent years. We need to redirect some funding and catch up in this area. Roads, litter removal, libraries, and quality of life issues are very important to our county’s image and livability.

Qualifying for the July 31 Primary closed at noon yesterday.Oconee will have choices in many races.

According to media sources, the following candidates are qualified to run:
