Cliff and Hassie Dawson had 10 children who all survived to adulthood. There were approximately 25 grandchildren when Mama Hassie died in 1955. The family has grown much since then.

Descendants of Cliff and Hassie Dawson met on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at the Watkinsville Community Center. This year’s event was coordinated by Patti Dawson Clark and Jennifer Dawson who planned a worship service. As great-grandchildren of Cliff and Hassie Dawson, they were born after the deaths of Cliff and Hassie. They made an extra effort to identify program participants and family members by reference to their direct ancestors.

The coordinators used I-Pad Technology to help with hymns and to connect with Aunt Bert who lives in Lexington, KY. Aunt Bert has some health issues this year and could not attend. Most attendees were able to talk to her and see her on the I-Pad. Aunt Bert was able to see the crowd and Aunt Becky and Flo’s caramel cake on the desert table. That connection was a highlight of this year’s reunion.
